Wilderness Wear has been manufacturing socks in Melbourne since 1989. With over 30 years of expertise, we craft high-quality socks built to last. While renowned for our hiking socks, we also produce a large range of merino wool and bamboo running socks, perfect for recreational runners up to ultra endurance athletes.

Unlike other brands, our range features a higher percentage of merino wool, 100% Australian, blended with nylon and lycra for durability. We also offer a fusion range featuring Climayarn® technology, a blend of 80% Climayarn® (3:2 ratio – Pure Australian Merino/Superfine Schoeller Polypropylene).

Sourced from the highest grade merino wool from Tasmanian growers who have been selectively breeding sheep for generations. Provenance is clear, making these socks completely Australian.

Profilen®

Profilen® is PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) with extremely low friction. Integrated yarn reduces friction in high-abrasion areas to prevent blisters and abrasions.

Climayarn®

Merino Fusion Climayarn® eliminates sweat (rapid dry time), preserves heat in low temperatures, and prevents overheating during running. Combines natural merino wool with polypropylene for strength and performance.

Coolmax®

Coolmax® fibres transport moisture away from the foot, keeping you cool and dry during high-intensity running activities.

Celliant®

Celliant® recycles human energy. Heat emitted by the body is absorbed by thermo-reactive minerals and transferred back as infrared light, penetrating tissues to increase circulation, oxygen, and blood flow.
